Questions patients ask

Before you begin.

Straight answers about how Movena actually works. If your question isn't here, your pharmacist can answer it once you start.

Can you help if I'm already taking weight medication?
Yes. You don't need to start again. Tell us where you are in your treatment and your care team will help work out the appropriate next step.
Who reviews my information?
A named Movena clinician — a pharmacist — reads what you share. If a medical decision is needed — for example prescribing — they bring in a doctor. You'll always know who is looking after you.
Can I speak to a real person?
Yes. A real clinician reads and answers your messages. Movena is not a chatbot. Messages aren't instant — we reply within one working day.
Do I need a prescription to start?
No. If you have one, share it and we'll continue your care. If you don't, your care team will explain what's required and arrange a doctor's review where it's needed. We can't guarantee that medication will be prescribed.
When would a doctor become involved?
When a medical assessment, a prescribing decision or another medical judgement is needed. Your care team arranges it and stays involved throughout.
Where does my medication come from?
Your care team arranges and checks it through a licensed partner pharmacy in Lagos, delivered discreetly to an address you choose. Medication is charged separately by the pharmacy.
What happens after my medicine arrives?
That's the part Movena is built for. Your care team helps you use it properly, checks in during the weeks that follow, answers questions when something changes, reviews your progress monthly and starts arranging your next refill before you run out.
What if I experience a side effect?
Tell your care team. They'll help you understand whether it's expected, what to do, and involve a doctor when needed. For severe symptoms, get urgent medical care immediately rather than waiting for a reply.
How do refills work?
We track where you are in your supply and start arranging the prescription, pharmacy and delivery before your medication runs out — so you don't discover it at the last minute.
What does ₦35,000 a month cover?
The care around your treatment: your care plan, your named care team, weekly check-ins, a monthly review, treatment education, help when something changes, progress monitoring, refill tracking, and pharmacy and delivery coordination.
What costs are separate?
Medication, charged by the dispensing pharmacy. Doctor consultations, tests, devices and specialist services are charged separately where they're needed.
Is my information private?
Only the pharmacist, doctor or coordinator looking after you can see your care information. We don't share it with employers, family or third parties without your permission, and access is traceable.
How quickly will someone respond?
Within one working day, during care hours. Your care plan always says what happens next and when to expect it. Movena is not a 24/7 or emergency service.
What should I do in an emergency?
Go to the nearest emergency department or call your local emergency number immediately. Do not wait for a Movena reply. Examples include chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, severe or persistent vomiting, or a severe allergic reaction.

Let's help you stay on track.

Tell us where you are today and a Movena pharmacist will explain the appropriate next step.
